Mario Kart is also one of the few game series that rarely disappoints players. To me, this is the best racing game series of all time, from its launch until now.

New and Breakthrough Gameplay

When Nintendo announced Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS, many people may have thought it was just another iteration of the previous installments, but in fact this is the freshest version of the series, in a long time.

Mario Kart 7 retains the familiar Grand Prix mode that we have loved from previous versions. There are 50cc, 100cc and 150cc cups and various themed races.

However, the biggest difference is that now you are no longer limited to the ground. For the first time in Mario Kart history, you can fly into the air using a glider on special ramps. Combined with the amazing 3D effects of the 3DS, the Mario Kart experience has been raised to a new level.

In addition to the aerial segments, the game also has underwater segments, although they appear less frequently. Perhaps because the aerial segments provide a greater sense of freedom and control, the underwater segments are a bit sluggish. However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as the change of pace makes the game more interesting.

Smooth and Intuitive Controls

The control system in Mario Kart 7 is one of the best systems I have ever experienced on a handheld game console. A or Y button to accelerate, R to jump and drift, X or L to use items, and an analog stick to control the direction of movement. This means you can easily operate all the buttons at any time. It feels like the 3DS was born just for Mario Kart 7.

Attractive Multiplayer Mode

Multiplayer mode is always the most attractive feature of any Mario Kart game, and Mario Kart 7 is no exception. You can now participate in races with up to 8 players. This mode can be played locally or online. Racing with players from Japan, Germany, England and France at the same time is an extremely exciting experience.

Impressive Graphics and Sound

Visually, Mario Kart 7 is one of the most impressive games I’ve ever seen on the 3DS. From the rain effects to the vast environments, the game looks like a Gamecube title, even better.

The sound is also nothing to criticize. All the familiar music from previous versions returns. However, I personally don’t like Rainbow Road’s music very much, not because of its melody but because it always reminds me of times I fell off the track.

Mario Kart 7 is a great game for Nintendo 3DS. The game can now be played easily on 3DS emulators on PC. I bet you will spend a lot of time with this game, more than any other game on 3DS.
