Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward is the second part of the famous detective and adventure game series Zero Escape. The game was released exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in July 2012. If you have played other parts in the series games like 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, and Nine Doors, you will easily see that Virtue’s Last Reward borrows many different elements from them while also adding a completely new story with countless mysteries and twists.

The plot of Virtue’s Last Reward revolves around the protagonist, Sigma, a 20-year-old college student who finds himself locked in an elevator with a woman named Fay. He didn’t know how he got there, nor did he know who this woman was. All he knows is that a screen pops up with a bunny saying that if he doesn’t exit the elevator within 9 minutes, the elevator will fall, and he will die.

You will follow nine individuals locked in an abandoned facility where they are forced to play a game of Hory. In the game of Hory, each player has a bracelet with a number on its face. The object of the game is to get this number, called BP, up to nine or higher to be able to open door number nine and escape.

To earn BP, players must participate in a game of Amodex, where a single and a pair must choose to ally with or betray the other team. If both teams form an alliance, they will be awarded two points. If they both betray each other, they get nothing. If one team chooses alliance and the other team chooses betrayal, they will be awarded three points, and your team will lose two points.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Everyone just needs to choose Alliance, and eventually, they will all reach nine and be able to exit. The theory seems simple, but you will find that things are not that easy. This is really a fun game that will challenge your brain.
