Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII ROM Description
Crisis Core is the PSP prequel to one of the most famous RPGs of all time, the original Final Fantasy VII on PS1. While the original game followed Cloud and his comrades in their efforts to stop the iconic Sephiroth, Crisis Core takes a more restrained approach and follows the exploits of Zack Fair, his friend Cloud, a character who only appeared briefly in the original film.
Throughout the game, the plot revolves around the relationship between Zack and several key characters, both new and old. Much of the plot in Crisis Core is very touching and consistent with the themes from the original; although it is a bit sloppy at times, this game is very different from the original in terms of gameplay.
You only control Zack in Crisis Core, and all combat takes place in real-time, although you’ll choose commands from a customization menu at the bottom of the screen. Think of this game’s combat like Kingdom Hearts, but it’s a bit simpler. The combat is pretty good, although it gets a bit repetitive at the end, but with all the materials available and in typical Square Enix style, all the intricate level adjustments you have can do. Crisis Core can be quite profound if you get into it. The game is now available to download and play for free on the PSP emulator.
