Silent Hill 2 (Original and Director’s Cut) ROM Description
Silent Hill 2 for PS2 is more than just a survival horror game and is, in fact, much less focused on killing the horrible monstrosities you’ll find throughout the small town. This version focuses more on collecting keys, finding clues to bizarre discoveries you will experience throughout the game, and solving complex puzzles. The puzzles in the game are so important that there are difficulty levels for each puzzle.
The world of Silent Hill 2 is like the dream of a serial killer, with a complex map full of twists and turns, brutal killing scenes, and annoying evil puzzles. The game is built with many clues written as if Stephen King himself contributed to this game. Almost everywhere in the game is dark and inhumanely scary. In the first part of the game, for example, you have to weave through an apartment building full of monsters, freshly killed people, and this guy you’ll see a lot. You will see a lot of pyramid-head monsters in this game, and they are determined to destroy you at all costs.
One of the strengths of this game is the excellent graphics, both in-game and in cinematic cutscenes. They bring to life the darkness of this psychological horror film, and the sound keeps you on guard when walking down the hallway or moving blindly through the foggy outdoors. The game has six different endings, ranging from two humorous endings to four psychologically profound explanations behind Mary’s death and rebirth. Prepare to be very, very scared.
