Killzone was created so that PS2 fans would no longer be jealous of Halo on Xbox. Sony developed this game exclusively for the PS2 to have a dramatic shooting game of their own.

Welcome to the Kill Zone, a place filled with red organ fluid. Look at the aiming circle, fire bullets at your enemies, and feel the satisfaction of seeing them go to pieces!

The plot is quite simple, but good enough to motivate you. In the distant future, aliens will visit Earth with an extreme invasion attitude and begin to destroy our cities. We start doing what we always do when aliens invade. If you answer that you eavesdropped on their phone, that’s wrong. We fight back.

You start running around in the game and will be drawn into the oppressive atmosphere. The game really creates a claustrophobic and scary atmosphere that makes you feel like there’s always something ready to jump in your face.

Killzone allows you to choose one of 4 characters to start. You will start with Templar, the surfer guy from OC. He looks the same now that the OC is outdated. So it’s time for Templar to hang up his surfboards and hit the dark red streets of Killzone.

He will be accompanied by a flock of lucid berserkers, proving themselves in battle against an incompetent self-help enemy known as the Helghast. In the world’s gloomy atmosphere, Helghasts are fortunately recognizable by their bright red and blue goggles.

You can also play with Rico, always a mysterious marine with a name like that; Shakespeare would say Rico can’t write. Rico writes on the torn paper of the enemy he tortured.

The game also has a diverse arsenal of weapons ready for you to choose from to rush into enemies. There are some special fictional weapons that are designed to look futuristic as they fire thermal energy, or nuclear energy. Either way, there’s always something to suit your fighting style. The overall shooting mechanics are great, but it takes a while to get used to aiming.

Some people say Killzone is the killer of Halo 2. It has more fun in a typical shooting action game like Halo. Whether this is true or not, it cannot be denied that Killzone is one of the best games on PS2 that you should not miss.
