God of War II ROM Description

God of War II begins with Kratos in the same position he was at the end of the previous game with a huge Spartan army ready for battle. Kratos’ bloodlust and lack of control made Zeus and the other Olympian gods fearful of betrayal.

So they did it first by sending a giant statue to attack him.

Kratos emerges victorious, but Zeus is there and finished off Kratos. Kratos survived through a mysterious power from hell, and now it’s time for him to face his fate, turn back time to when Zeus betrayed him, and do something about it.

In God of War II, you spend nearly the entire game on your solo journey to the sisters of fate and the friend you are adventuring with; you know, Kratos? He’s no longer sympathetic; he’s an asshole who deserved what he got when Zeus stabbed him.

God of War II does a great job of bringing new gameplay mechanics to the series, mainly for puzzles and platforms. We are completely satisfied with the new mechanisms they added to the platform. We have the bird wings that help you glide across the screen like Batman. I’ve always been a fan of long-range platforms, so they were great. Even better is the grapple, although a bit difficult to use at first but it’s awesome swinging like Tarzan, feeling appropriate and excellent. Puzzles also have a new fold which is to slow down time, its use is clearly limited to some areas but it leads to some really cool puzzles.

As for combat changes, to be honest, the combat system of the first game was already great. So clearly, the developers didn’t really need to innovate too much here, and they were right. We still basically have the same combat system; it feels as good as before. The only difference I felt was that the counter system felt more satisfying. There are also some new weapons, but I have never used them.
