Like “Super Smash Bros.,” “One Piece: Grand Battle Swan Colosseum” has a very similar gameplay. The action unfolds on a flat 2D surface, and the levels are expansive and open to exploration. Light assaults and forceful attacks are the two main categories of basic attacks. On top of that, players may perform special attacks by pressing specific buttons, and they can unleash super assaults when their super meter is full. There may only be two players fighting at once, but the action moves at a breakneck pace.

You may play the game in multiplayer mode with two Wonderswan Color systems connected via the Wonderswan link connection; however, each system requires its own copy of the game.
