Digimon Medley is an adaptation of the hit Japanese manga and anime series Digimon, in which regular kids from Japan discover a portal to another world and aid heroic digital monsters in their battle against villains. Neither Digimon Adventure nor Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer have any direct plot ties to this game. Rather, it sticks closer to the show’s real episodes. From the first episodes, you take control of Taichi and Yamato, the protagonists; from the Digimon Tamers subseries, you control Takato, Ruki, and Lee, among others. Each of the game’s brief episodes brings back a different fight from the series. In the beginning, you have the Digimon Tamers, who are venturing into DigiWorld. However, they encounter the mysterious and mischievous Impmon.

Several playable characters are available for each episode. In addition, every character gets their very own digimon that takes part in every combat. You control your characters through top-down dungeons, and combat happen at random. The assaults are shown in brief animation-style scenes. When it’s your turn to attack, keep pressing the A button to make your assault stronger. You need to put enough strength into your assault for it to connect since the adversary is attacking at the same time as you.
