In 1940, Hitler’s brutal pursuit of expanding Germany’s borders left the German people at war with the entire world. The mobilization of British and French troops did not prevent the Germans from invading their European neighbors to the north and west. They are also simultaneously expanding their influence eastward toward Russia’s important oil fields.

Call of Duty Finest Hour was released on November 16, 2004. The game was developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Activision. Like other Call of Duty versions, this game is quite short, only taking about 5 hours to complete on a normal difficulty level.

The plot is inspired by real events that took place during World War II. In the game, you will control many different characters in different countries, fighting against Germany and repelling them through each mission. The game’s cut scenes use real images and videos from the period, recounting the events of the war. This is a different and fresh way of storytelling that other war games should learn from.

The game uses an aiming system that feels quite rigid, but it still works well and is enough for you to have a good playing experience.

The difficulty levels in Finest Hour don’t seem to accurately represent what you get in each level. I played at a normal level for most of the game, but towards the end of the game, around the last 5 levels, the game became a lot harder than normal. Luckily, you can exit the menu change the difficulty level in the options section, and continue playing.

The weapon system is quite diverse to use based on your fighting style. There are a total of 16 different types of weapons, from rifles, machine guns, and shotguns to grenades.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour has many diverse levels. Most of the time, you will be running with a gun and destroying enemies, but there are also missions where you are a gunner or a tank driver, changing the gameplay quite a lot with little repetition, making the playing experience always good.
