Mario Party 10 has significantly cut down on the mini-games, making you a passive observer instead of an active participant. The main Mario Party mode has up to 4 players sharing a car going through the course, collecting mini stars and playing random games. Simple maps with limited tactical options and dice blocks are the only tools to control your journey but are only useful in rare situations. Many stars appear randomly, so collecting them is completely based on luck.

Mario Party 10 continues to stray even further from its roots of humorous mini-games and a healthy spirit of competition, and the result is that it’s like a bottle of soda that’s been left out for too long and gone sour.
