In February 2024 at the Nintendo Partner Direct conference, publisher THQ Nordic announced that Purple Lamp was redeveloping Epic Mickey under the name Rebrushed on multiple platforms. The game will use the Unreal engine instead of the original Gamebryo. Finally, the DEMO version of the game is available for us to enjoy a little bit of its gameplay, story, and graphics. The full version of the Nintendo Switch will officially be released on September 24.

Mickey Mouse had a strange dream: he discovered that the mirror in his bedroom was a portal to another world. Mickey stepped through the mirror and he ended up in the workshop of the magician Yen Sid. Meanwhile, Yen Sid was using brushes, paints, and solvents to create a world for forgotten cartoon characters. When the magician went on vacation, Mickey decided to use brushes and paints to paint his portrait. But instead, he created the Phantom Blot!

The highlight of the game is the brush that Mickey owns, which has the ability to paint or erase objects with paints and solvents. For example, obstacles can be erased from reality with solvent, and then restored with paint, or enemies can be turned into friends by being revived with paint, or completely destroyed with solvent.
