Sonic the Hedgehog has returned to the 2D dimension with Sonic Rush for Nintendo DS. The game was released by SEGA in 2005. The plot of Sonic Rush is quite simple and easy to understand. The bad guy Eggman is back as usual, this time he is plotting to steal the Chaos Gems and rule the world. As usual, you are assisted by your friend Tails and he will accompany you on this exciting adventure.

Sonic Rush has a fun Dash attack that adds a bit of strategy so you can’t just hold the right button the whole time. Additionally, the game introduces a brand new playable character, Blaze the Cat. This gorgeous purple-haired cat is actually a queen from a parallel universe and she’s trying to take your gems. The ability to control a second character definitely adds replay value, but her moves are so similar to Sonic that you might feel like you’re having déja vu.

Sonic Rush features high-speed action gameplay and classic graphics that finally bring the series back to its 16-bit heyday. Now you can download its ROM and play it for free on the Nintendo DS emulator.
