Following the massive success of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen, Game Freak continued developing a new Pokemon game for the end of generation 4 called Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The game was released on the Nintendo DS in 2010 with updated graphics, more in-game content, and of course the unmatched battle system of the Platinum version. This article provides you with the ROM file for the HeartGold version.

In Pokémon HeartGold Version, you control the protagonist Ethan on his journey across the Johto region. Your mission is to collect badges, defeat villains, and of course complete the Pokemon collection.

The game introduced a new mechanism called the Pokewalker. It was an ingenious idea from Game Freak, allowing any Pokemon to strut their stuff behind the player, like Pikachu in Yellow.

Everything you loved about Johto is here with the gorgeous Gen 4 sprites and updated music. The game also expands the legendary Pokemon lore surrounding this ancient land. Alongside Gym Leaders, side characters, and of course, your rival Silver, HeartGold provides more for the Kimono Girls from Gold, Silver, and Crystal. You also have plenty to do beside catching and training Pokemon.

Johto also adds some new spices with a brand new and improved Safari Zone, upgraded and updated gyms, as well as a Battle Frontier ripped straight from Platinum. Many battle mechanisms and systems from Pokemon Platinum have also been smoothly transferred over and utilized. We have familiar moves, items, and many mechanics.
