Behind the Thousand-Year Door is a treasure that the evil X-Nauts are after! Mario travels across a vibrant paper world in search of them initially with the aid of a few locals and a guide given to him by Princess Peach. Leveling up Mario and his allies, perfecting timing-based strikes and badges to dazzle on the combat stage, and utilizing all the powers that come with being cursed—er, conveniently made of paper—such as folding into a plane to cross large gaps or turning sideways to slip through narrow openings—are all necessary to succeed in this quest.
