Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club begins with the mysterious, hidden death of a high school student. Alarmingly, his head was covered with a paper bag depicting a strange, smiling face on it. “This frightening face bears a striking resemblance to the recurring clue in a string of unsolved serial killings from 18 years prior. The prime suspect for these crimes is Emio (The Smiling Man), an urban legend killer who was said to bestow his victims with an ‘eternal smile’ across their faces.

You will take on the role of a freelance amateur detective assisting the local police. Your first task is to get to the bottom of the case surrounding the mysterious student death. Alongside uncovering the truth, you must stop the legendary Smiling Man killer, who is also believed to be linked to other horrific murders in the past.
