The next game in the Bayonetta series is Bayonetta 2. Assume the role of Bayonetta, a witch from the Underworld who is determined to save her ally Jeanne from the fiery pits of Hell. A few months have passed since the events of the last game. Countless angels and devils are on her trail, and she must vanquish them all. Fighting various adversaries and mixing multiple moves based on physical combat and gunplay is the hallmark of this third-person action game, which draws inspiration from titles like God of War and Devil May Cry. As you go through a range of spectacular bouts in different locales, the game is all about executing great combinations with pinpoint timing.

Dodging strikes at the last second activates Witch Time, which slows down time so you can respond. Solving environmental riddles is another application of this method. Once again, you may score more points by ensnaring foes in hellish devices during torture attacks. Just as in the last game, Bayonetta’s hand and foot weaponry may be heavily customized. One new feature in the game is Umbran Climax. When the magic gauge is full, it becomes active, healing the user and increasing their damage and radius.
