There have been many Batman games over the years, but none have put players in the boots of the Dark Knight as well as Telltale’s Batman. This game has finally arrived on the Switch system and you can download it for free.

This is a point-and-click, narrative-based game similar to other Telltale games. There is some combat, but not as much as the Arkham series. You mostly follow on-screen prompts, pressing up, down, B or X. There is a chance you will get a game over and die but this is very rare overall.

The puzzles are quite simple, mostly involving investigating the scene and piecing things together to uncover what happened and advance the plot. Occasionally you have choices to make decisions, like dialogue trees when talking, depending on what you say the character will react differently and remember that. This is what gives the game replay value.

Playing this game is like watching a movie with QTEs. If you don’t like this type of game, choose to play something else. And if you are looking for a more action-oriented Batman, Telltale’s Batman Series is also not the right choice. However, if you are a fan of Telltale games or Batman in general, you will really enjoy this game.
