King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride ROM Description

It has long been Queen Valanice of Daventry’s belief that her daughter Rosella would be best served by entering into matrimony. But the little princess appears to have a more adventurous spirit, carelessly trailing after a mystical being that no one can explain into a maelstrom that takes her and her mother to a parallel universe. They eventually reach separate regions of Eldritch, where Rosella undergoes a metamorphosis into a troll. They have a shared goal: to locate one another and vanquish a wicked witch bent on destroying the land.

Solving inventory puzzles is the main focus of King’s Quest VII, much as in its predecessors. The game is an adventure game. There is a lot less written explanation and a streamlined “smart cursor” for general interaction with highlighted items and characters; it also ditches the icon-based interface from the first two games. Each chapter follows a different princess or queen as they make their way through the game. Its vividly colorful graphics are evocative of Walt Disney cartoons, in contrast to the realistic painting approach of all the previous games.
