Reimagined as King’s Quest I: Quest for the Crown by Roberta Williams, it is a sequel to the original game. While it still supports text-based input and interaction, it has more sophisticated EGA full-screen visuals, optional mouse support, and uses Sierra’s 16-color SCI game interpreter, making it visually comparable to the fourth iteration of the series. In contrast to the original, which solely supported speaker output, this version’s musical score is compatible with sound cards.

The storyline and locales of the game have undergone several revisions. The remake adds a couple new characters and expands on a few dialogues with extra lines. A few riddles have slightly altered answers, and you won’t find a few items where they were before.
