Dante’s Inferno ROM Description

Dante’s Inferno is another version of God of War but set in the Middle Ages. The game tells the story of a medieval knight who wants to cheat death by traveling through the nine circles of hell to save the soul of his beloved. The game is a great puzzle adventure combined with fast-paced hack-and-slash.

If you have played the original God of War or games like Devil May Cry, you will know what to expect here. Dante’s Inferno has similar gameplay but has a Christian element mixed in. You will enter each room and kill all the demons and hideous creatures that crawl out. The combat is really satisfying as you can combine light and heavy attacks, use special skills, and fight giant bosses.

Each of the 9 original floors has its own appearance and type of monster representing each sin. Suddenly, when the kids are laughing and chasing you, then you start slashing them with your sickle and they start crying like babies, everything becomes much more real and scary. From the wolf-bodied baby reaching out to grab you, the boiling river, the cool Dante character design with his knight armor, and the sickle he took from the Grim Reaper, the tapestry of his sin as a reminder.

There’s a lot to love about Dante’s Inferno, especially the scenery and backgrounds. But ultimately it feels like you’re doing the same thing over and over again. There’s a lot to see, but the actual gameplay often boils down to repetitiveness. The puzzles that break up combat aren’t all that exciting either, but at least they seem creative and satisfying enough.
