Humans and robots engaged in a fierce conflict two centuries ago. In the end, the machines prevailed and assumed dominion of the planet, guided by their malevolent deity. Elc, the protagonist of Arc the Lad 2, is you. As usual, Elc takes jobs from his guild as a mercenary. After the robots killed Finia’s mother, he meets Finia, a girl who was a member of a resistance organization. The heroes, aided by their allies, must save mankind and set the Earth back to its natural state.

This future setting serves as the backdrop for a side tale in the Arc the Lad series. The player is led to believe that the whole dungeon exploration is one long combat, much as in the original Arc the Lad games. In turn-based gameplay, you control your heroes’ movements while your foes execute their actions. You have a range of special tactics at your disposal, and you may strike whenever an adversary appears on a square close to you.
