The Amazing Spider-Man for PS Vita does everything by the textbook – an expansive world with a good main story and scattered side missions. You play as Spider-Man – a superhero with sharp senses and great fighting skills. As the game progresses, skills are upgraded with experience points earned from fighting, saving civilians, and collecting comic pages. The game also introduces a variety of additional costumes and tapes to help extend gameplay. You probably won’t find anything groundbreaking here, but what’s available is still interesting to explore.

The combat and exploration in The Amazing Spider-Man can get a bit repetitive later on, but the game changes enough to keep it going. There are some levels that require sneak attacks, a nice change of pace. Another great point comes from the boss battles. We were really surprised at how well the boss battles turned out. They happen at a fast pace and require a lot of skill to overcome.

Of course, the most striking aspect of the game is the fact that it really makes you feel like you’re Spider-Man. Web-slinging and fighting describe Super Spider perfectly as do the clever banter, which I have to admit are quite funny. If you love Spiderman, this is definitely a recommended game.
