Dead Island is a survival horror action game developed by Techland. You play as a survivor of a zombie outbreak on a resort island.

So, how does the gameplay? You start by choosing a survivor character who is immune to the virus. Then you are thrown into a zombie epidemic at a beachside hotel. At first, you need to look for primary weapons, healing items, and anything that can help you survive the initial attacks.

The game focuses on close combat, but you can also use guns in the later stages. Your stamina bar limits your actions, so always be careful before doing something. You can craft new weapons or upgrade them to make them stronger, but guns also wear out, so you have to carry some options; otherwise, you’ll be forced to use your fists. Fighting with your hands is a nightmare because the undead will easily tear you apart.

As you progress, you can unlock skill trees in 3 different branches to increase your survival ability. Enemies are as diverse as most other zombie games. Initially, the zombies are slow and easy to defeat, but later on, you will encounter many more potent and dangerous types.

The game world is beautiful and looks like an ideal vacation without zombies. It’s like a real post-apocalyptic world with abandoned cars, survivors, and zombies everywhere eating people—really horror.

Dead Island has transportation that makes it easy to explore the beach, city, forest, and even the prison. In addition to fighting for survival, you must rummage for items and create and upgrade weapons to kill zombies.

Overall, the game balances fun, challenge, and survival horror well. In terms of graphics, the game looks good; the environments are detailed and bright. The zombie and character models are pretty good. The graphics are generally very nice, perhaps slightly less than Dying Light.
