Batman: The Animated Series is honestly one of the best Batman things ever. It really understands who Batman is and what he should be like and captures that feeling. Batman should be dark and few things capture that better than the Animated Series. And Batman: Vengeance tries to do the same. The game is actually set in the universe of the sequel to Batman: The Animated Series, called The New Batman Adventures.

The game has a similar art style, from the character designs, to the gadgets, and even Gotham City. It’s great to see this art direction brought to life, and it really does feel like an animated movie.

The game is broken up into separate parts that feel like individual episodes, and each part even has its own title to match the style of the series.

Each episode introduces a different villain, including the Joker, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, and Poison Ivy. Each has their own evil plans to make Gotham theirs, and Batman must stop them.

The levels are pretty straightforward, with a linear path for Batman. What’s interesting is how he gets from point A to B. As you can imagine, Batman has a lot of different moves and gadgets to stop the bad guys.

He can use his cape to glide to other areas, and he also has access to all his gadgets. Batman has batarangs, cables, and catapults to deal with the environment and enemies. Henchmen and minions are waiting everywhere to confront the world’s top detective. Batman has a full range of fighting moves. After you knock out an enemy, you have to handcuff them or they will get back up later.
