We’ve seen many different versions of Hyrule over the years, but A Link Between Worlds revives the same top-down perspective seen in A Link to the Past on the SNES. You start out as a blacksmith’s apprentice, with a routine job of delivering a new sword, but within minutes, trouble erupts and you have to wield the sword yourself to fight through a dark cave beneath Hyrule Castle. Finally, you face the villain behind the evil commotion – Yuga, who has a bad habit of turning people into paintings.

A Link Between Worlds gives you most of the important items right from the start. They worked really well and gave you plenty of opportunity to freely explore the world. That’s the best thing this game brings – freedom. You can go almost anywhere you want and complete the dungeons in any order.

Each dungeon is unique, memorable, and really fun to play. The best thing is that many of the puzzles have different solutions depending on you. Link is equipped with a new skill that has the ability to transform himself into a living painting. This allows him to cling to walls like Spider-Man, being able to go through gaps or around corners.

A Link Between Worlds made some risky design changes when it was released on Nintendo 3DS, but it really paid off. This amazing game is always at the top of the best N3DS games. Don’t miss it because now you can easily download the CIA ROM file and play it for free on the Citra emulator!
